The SMSF Virtual Day 2020 is the fifth version of our SMSF technical day and is shaping up to be our most exciting one yet. Whilst we ordinarily enjoy the opportunity to travel and conduct these event face-to-face around Australia, the entire team at Smarter SMSF is putting together a virtual event that will ensure you have a highly interactive and valuable day.

As an Accredited Educator with the SMSF Association, Smarter SMSF expects to award up to 10 hours of CPD where attendees watch all sessions, read the workbooks prepared for some sessions and complete the CPD assessment that will also be available. CPD hours will be awarded for FASEA, the Tax Practitioner’s Board, with the SMSF Association, the major accounting bodies (CPA, CAANZ, IPA), and for those needing to meet their SMSF Audit Hours.

One of the advantages of moving to a virtual event is that we have been able to bring together an exciting line-up of experts across the SMSF, accounting, audit, actuarial and legal industries.
This provides you with the ability to learn about different topics from different speakers, with different perspectives – whether you’re a financial adviser understanding the latest contribution strategies, or how the latest audit measures will impact your clients, the SMSF Virtual day gives you important context across all sessions as we explore many of the hottest topics shaping the SMSF sector today.
We are also excited to have the ATO’s Assistant Commissioner – SMSF Segment for the final session of the day for a Q&A discussion with Aaron Dunn on what is shaping the Regulator’s focus as we head towards 2021.
5. Interact with our speakers as part of a live Q&A after each session
We know how important it is to interact with speakers at an event, which is why we have created a Q&A hub within our virtual event that allows you to interact with our speakers from all sessions to discuss any further questions that you may have.
All attendees will also have the ability to send questions through to us before the event so that these particular issues can be explored as part of a session. 6. Live event, with access to 30 November
A jam packed agenda, with a range of concurrent sessions means that you can’t get to every session on the day. We also know for our Perth friend’s a 9:00am start in Melbourne is a 6:00am start in WA, and I’m sure there’ll be other emergencies throughout the day – but don’t fear, not only do you get access to the events on the day, you will have the ability to watch any or all of the sessions right through to 30 November 2020 on the SMSF Day virtual hub.
7. We’ve got an amazing platform to deliver an epic virtual event!
Once we realised that the postponed SMSF day events from earlier in 2020 weren’t going to go ahead face-to-face, our attention turned to delivering an event that we know would uphold the extremely high level of feedback that we get from attendees in joining us each year.
We searched far and wide to find a virtual event platform that would allow us to not just deliver training, but a fully immersive event that beyond our live stage and breakout sessions includes:
