As CEO & Co-founder of Smarter SMSF, his knowledge and insights into SMSFs are highly regarded, which regularly lead to him being part of Government and regulatory consultations on topics shaping the SMSF sector. In 2024, Aaron received the SMSF Association’s Chairman Award for this contribution to the SMSF sector.

SMSF Technical & Education Manager
Tim is the SMSF Technical & Education Manager at Smarter SMSF. He is a well-known figure within the SMSF industry, having worked in numerous technical and education roles over his 25+ year industry journey, and is regularly invited to participate in Government and Regulatory consultation (incl. proposed Div 296 tax measures). Tim received the CEO’s Award at the SMSF Association National Conference 2023.

The ticket provides the nominated attendee with access to attend the SMSF day event, which includes food and beverages throughout the day. Attendees will be provided with access to materials prior to the event should you wish to print. Attendees will also be awarded with 8 x CPD hours for attending the event.

Yes, due to feedback from those wanting to attend the event but unable to for whatever reason, we will be live streaming the Melbourne event on Thursday, 26 March 2026. You can purchase a ticket to attend to Live Stream, noting that ticket prices for the live stream are the same as attending the live event.
Yes, we will be providing access to the livestream as a recording post event until 30 June 2026. This will allow people to continue to review and navigate the Division 296 tax rules which are intended to commence from 1 July 2026.
Please note that we expect the livestream recording to be available to watch in mid-April 2026.
Yes, both CPD and document subscription holders will be provided with a special member coupon code that will give access to a discounted ticket price to attend an SMSF Day event. This coupon code can be used at anytime up until the event to access the member price, subject to venue capacity. The ‘member-only’ coupon code is to be applied when purchasing tickets in the shopping cart.
Yes, but only for total ticket purchases of $1,200 or more. You should contact us at team@smartersmsf.com to request a coupon code to apply an agreed discount.
Smarter SMSF also offers a corporate ticket package for businesses that may wish to purchase a minimum of 10 tickets to any of the SMSF Day events around Australia. Please refer to the FAQs question “I am interested in corporate ticket pricing” for more details.
Smarter SMSF is offering the opportunity for organisations to purchase tickets (at a corporate rate) across any or all of the locations for the SMSF Day events. These tickets can be used by team members or alternatively purchased for professional-based clients (not SMSF trustees) – e.g. referral partners.
The minimum number of tickets to be purchased under a corporate package is 10, which can be allocated across multiple locations, or alternatively used at a single event. In circumstances where tickets are for a single location, Smarter SMSF can arrange to reserve a table(s) at the event for the corporate attendees.

Yes, you will be provided with a link in the days before the event to access the event materials. This will allow you to print slides and other materials for the event should you wish to.
Smarter SMSF will not be providing printed copies of the materials, these will only be provided in electronic form, except for the case studies which will be printed and provided for attendees to work on at your respective table.
In additional to your thinking cap, we suggest a laptop or tablet so you can access the materials for the SMSF day event (unless you have decided to print them and bring with you).
Smarter SMSF will be providing limited printing materials for you on the day – e.g. case studies.
Yes, if you are unable to attend you can transfer the ticket to another attendee on the basis that you have contacted Smarter SMSF to advise of the updated attendee information for the event.

Yes, CPD points will be awarded towards the SMSF Association (as an Accredited Educator), the major accounting bodies (CPA, CAANZ, IPA), and the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB). CPD hours will also be broken down with the legislated CPD hours & for ASIC purposes, including the recognition of SMSF audit hours.
The CPD certificate will be issued within 5 business days following the event and will be sent to attendees by email.
