Aaron is a well-known identity within the SMSF sector and is seen as a trusted source for professionals to learn more about SMSFs and the direction of the sector.  Aaron’s insights into both technical and practice-based issues within the SMSF industry sees him regularly sort out to participate as a key stakeholder across regulatory and policy issues.  

As an SMSF specialist and CPA with more than 20 years experience, Aaron is the CEO and Co-founder of Smarter SMSF, a specialist business that provides technology-based solutions to educate and automate document creation, simplifying the complexities of SMSFs for accountants, financial advisers and other financial services professionals.

A lover of sport, in particular AFL football (Essendon) and athletics, Aaron was previously a nationally ranked high jumper having set a personal best jump of 2.14m.

I love the ability to create solutions to changes in the SMSF industry. Each day provides different challenges and opportunities, which is great to be able to work through in growing the business.

4. What do you do when you are not at Smarter SMSF?

I love my sport… having previously competed at a high level in athletics, I now enjoy giving my time helping out with my youngest son’s sports, coaching his cricket team and helping out during footy season. I’m a mad Essendon supporter (AFL), and regularly go to games. I still keep myself fit, running a couple of times each week, plus the gym – keeping fit helps me both physically and mentally in this type of role. You will also find me enjoying a beer or two with friends, having grown a fondness of craft beer during lockdown.
