We are super excited to release one of our most requested features on the Smarter SMSF platform – a new ABN/TFN integration that members (and PAYG users) can complete from a new SMSF completed order.
This new feature will save users a significant amount of time in the registration process when compared to completing this task on the Australian Business Registry (ABR). The screenshot below shows you how you can apply after having successfully completed your new SMSF order:
Using the data from your new SMSF completed order, this form automatically populates the fund, trustee and member information into the form for submission. Importantly, you will be able to store user information for future orders as an authorised contact and for the declaration to further ensure that you save time not having to re-key information about the tax agent or other intermediary lodging the fund information.
Actions tab
The ‘Apply for the ABN/TFN’ forms part of the ‘Actions’ tab under the completed orders section which allows you to:
- Apply for the ABN;
- Apply for the TFN; and
- Become a regulated self-managed super fund
ABR lodgement
Upon submission of the application to the Australian Business Registry, an API response message will be provided that either:
- confirms lodgement and generate a document with the ABN information;
- confirms lodgement, but advise that the registration is subject to further review (a reference number is provided to follow up with the ATO); or
- details a failed response, which will include details of the issue that needs to be rectified. The user can reset the order to amend and resubmit.
Pricing
The fee (incl. GST) for completion of the ABN/TFN registration through the Smarter SMSF integration is:
- Members (create subscription) – $33
- PAYG orders – $55
Please note that this will be payable as part of the new SMSF order form (individual trustees), or via the special purpose trustee company (corporate trustee) – in addition to the ASIC incorporation fee We will shortly be releasing our new SMSF & trustee company combined form, where the ABN registration fee will also be added to the ASIC incorporation fee.
