We are excited to release the new CSV import function on the new Smarter SMSF platform to complete various document orders from data that you have either exported from an external software system (e.g. Xero, xplan) or used the smarter .csv template to populated manually.
The CSV import allows you to add client data to the .csv file and then import this information into the relevant order form, where you map the fields and then generate your fund document order. You can complete this task for a single order, or a CSV sheet with multiple entries (e.g. file with 5 rows of client data) will create 5 x saved orders for you to review and complete.
The CSV import function has been designed to use with the following forms on the Smarter SMSF platform:
- Setting up a new Trustee Company – The CSV file allows you to map data from an external software source (e.g. Xero, CRM, etc) into the special purpose company incorporation form. With a corporate trustee, you use the CSV import to map the fields and generate the company documents, then use the DocFlows feature on the Smarter SMSF platform to automatically pass the data through to create the new SMSF and then complete the ABN/TFN order.
- New SMSF – The CSV file allows you to map data from an external software source (e.g. Xero, CRM, etc) into the fund establishment form. Based upon individual trustees, you will use the CSV import to map the fields to generate the new fund documents, then use the DocFlows feature on the Smarter SMSF platform to automatically pass the data through to complete the ABN/TFN order.
- Bulk SMSF trust deed updates (coming soon) – use the CSV file to undertake a SMSF deed update project. Populate the .csv file with multiple funds using your SMSF software, import via the Smarter CSV function, and map the relevant fields to create saved entries of the Deed of Variation for your funds. Review each of the entries before submitting the document orders for completion.
As part of the process, the CSV import will identify if anything is wrong with your data when mapping to the chosen document fields, allowing you to edit the data import fields (and try again if required). Importantly, once the fields have been mapped, you can save a CSV template for use with future orders.
The CSV import function will save you significant time in the ordering process – that is a smarter way!
If you would like a demonstration of the CSV import, please contact us on 1300 95 94 76 or email support@smartersmsf.com. Alternatively, you can register for the upcoming Smarter SMSF update on 17 October 2024 at 12pm AEDT to see Aaron Dunn demonstrate how the CSV import works.
NB. CSV file extension stands for “comma-separated value” file, one of the most common outputs for any spreadsheet program. A comma-separated value file refers to a file where the data is input as data separated by commas.
