Who prepares the Smarter SMSF documents for use?
The legal documents are drafted and maintained by Ian Glenister, who is a practising solicitor of Glenister & Co, and co-founder of Smarter SMSF. Ian was the first lawyer in Australia to become an accredited SMSF Specialist. He, along with Aaron Dunn (CPA & SSA) and Chris Hill of Hill Legal (SSA & Solicitor) catch up regularly to create new SMSF documents, along with attending to any updates/changes to the existing documents available on the platform subject to legislative change and/or case law decisions.
The pension and compliance documents are prepared predominantly by Aaron, given his knowledge and focus on the latest issues and strategies on SMSFs. These documents are overseen by Ian and Chris, ensuring consistency with the trust deed and other legal documents.
What happens after I register to start ordering?
You will be sent an email with acknowledgement of your request to sign up and following a review, your login details will be provided to start ordering. We expect this review process for new subscription request to occur within 60 minutes where sign ups occur within business hours.
What happens once I've used my free document in the month?
After you have used your free document for the month, you will be automatically switched across to the pay-as-you-go (PAYG) option where you can continue to order documents as needed in accordance with the PAYG price list.
Alternatively, you can easily upgrade to a subscription member package. Just choose which document package suits you here.
When does my account reset to get my next free document?
Your free document each month is available to order for a period of 30 days. Where you have ordered your free document, you will need to await this 30 day time period before your account will be replenished with an opening balance of one (1) document to order again.
Each month will continue on 30 day cycles until you decide to upgrade to a subscription member package. Just choose which document package suits you here.
Alternatively you can buy documents on a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) basis in accordance with our price list.
Can I setup multiple free accounts or have multiple accounts within our firm/practice?
No, this would not be a smart move and will be a breach of the terms and conditions of the free documents subscription resulting in an immediate termination of your account (and any associated accounts).
Upon registration by a user to sign up for free, our support team will verify the account to check for duplication or dummy accounts against our CRM and where relevant will make further enquiries to verify the user before issuing login details.
Smarter SMSF reserves the right to not issue access to the Smarter SMSF platform to order documents under the free subscription.
Do the free documents integrate with Simple Fund 360 or Class?
The integrations for Class and Simple Fund 360 are not available to use as part of generating free documents. The integration is only available as part of your subscription to one of the Smarter Create packages.
Can't I get some of these documents within my SMSF software?
Yes, you are correct, however these documents from the SMSF software are more generic in nature and don’t necessarily follow the rules of the trust deed. Our pension documents for example have additional features that can be created and adjusted because they link back to the trust deed.

Who are these documents for?
The free subscription is only available to Accountants and Financial Advisers working within the SMSF Industry. Due to the technical nature of these documents, this subscription is not available to Trustees. Once your registration is approved, you will receive an email with your login details and further information about your membership.
